As many people will know the Health & Safety Executive don't want us to be using the big Rack-Bench (the saw in the lower floor) this doesn't mean that Gayle Mill Trust won't be restoring the saw to a useable condition, but it does mean that we won't be able to use it for turning tree trunks into beams and planks.
To get us around this dilemma G.M.T has recently taken possession of a Mobile Saw Mill (a Wood-Mizer LT4ODH), thanks to The Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust. This will enable us to process timber for our own use as well as run it as a business going out sawing timber for farmers, wood-workers, builders or any one who would like some wood sawing.
At this point I would like to appeal to anyone who has some good timber that they would like to either donate to Gayle Mill or would like us to come and saw wood for you to please get in touch with William Lambert on 01969 667328. Thank you!
